According to Circular 20 issued by the Ministry of Finance has issued, under the regime of import cars movable assets of overseas Vietnamese returnees must ensure conditions of registration for circulation in that country nationals residing for at least 6 months and have run at least 10,000.

The Ministry of Finance issued Circular 20/2014 / TT-BTC  on 12/2 regulates the import of cars and motorcycles under the regime of moveable property of the citizens of Vietnam have settled abroad registration is resolved permanently residing in Vietnam.

Accordingly, application objects including Vietnam citizens residing abroad (foreign passport or passport substitute papers valid foreign country) and Vietnam citizens residing abroad (some households Vietnam projector and residence permit issued by foreign countries). Both objects must be registered permanent settlement in Vietnam under the current provisions of the new law of Vietnam, Vietnam imported vehicles in the form of movable assets.

Cars imported under the regime of moveable property to ensure the conditions registered for circulation in the country of residence or country where such individuals to work at least 6 months, and has run for a minimum distance is 10,000 cars by the time of arrival at the port of Vietnam.

Meanwhile, motor vehicles imported under the regime of moveable property must also meet the conditions have been registered for circulation in the country of residence, which are permitted to register, for circulation in Vietnam, and not too 03 years from the year of manufacture to the time of the car to the port of Vietnam.

On procedures for granting import licenses under the regime car movable assets, if cars are not eligible for importation under the regulations, citizens will have to make re-exported or imported in the form of non-commercial ( old car must pay taxes like import), while the motorcycle is done processing and re-export violations.

Where Vietnam citizens residing abroad were repatriated are not re-exported within the provisions shall be confiscated

This Circular takes effect from the date of the next quarter.
